Divine Wind

It's better fortune to be deceived than to deceive
Those who spread sophism are laughing beyond their boxes
And they feign ignorance to the problems of others
Spitting out things like "Ah, I see"

Marketing tears and pressing forward
Hypocrites are set on buying sympathy, then 'take care and goodbye'
The blood that flows in my body
Goes beyond anger and makes me nauseous

After so long, fixing this world won't work
Everyone knows that it's already too late
But if I could, just as I embraced the Japanese flag
I'd bravely cut open my stomach and shout

Leaving the past behind, and building a bridge to the future
But first watch your step, you're falling into the mud
It's as though you can't even show your own face
No matter what you say I won't hear you

I know nothing of the good and evil of things
We who don't understand human pain, can't wish for things like joy
I'll scatter all the blood that flows in my body
But what do I want to ask of the world?

After so long, fixing this world won't work
Everyone knows that it's already too late
But if I could, just as I embraced the Japanese flag
I'll bravely fall to the ground

Raising its voice at the end of destruction
The true form of a monster, roughly kneeling
Is it the roaring, fierce god Sanmen Roppi?
Or is it just a white snake?

After so long, fixing this world won't work
Everyone knows that it's already too late
But if I could, just as I embraced the Japanese flag
I'll bravely become ash

If the times change someday
Return to nothing again and raise your battle cry
Let's throw ourselves into the ravages of war
And roar with laughter
Notes:
1) Sophism, in modern terms, is artful deceit. It also refers to teachers in (ancient) Greece who would charge for their teachings and only provide wisdom to those who could afford to pay.
2) Sanmen Roppi is the enraged form of Daikokuten, one of seven lucky gods. He represents agriculture and prosperity. The white snake mentioned in the same verse is also a symbol of prosperity in Japanese superstition. Sanmen roppi also refers to versatility; a single person who can do the work of three.
