Isshi's Tedium Diary

#16
Good evening, how is everybody doing?
October 4th is finally coming, when "Kotodama" and "Sakura Maichiru Ano Oka De" will be released! I'll also be looking forward to it now. And, and, Kagrra's first full album「gozen」will be released on December 11. Is "「gozen」"in everybody's heads? I think it has full marks, and it's another terrific story whirling around inside me.

Well, we're approaching the end of summer, and I've started to hear the voices of insects even in my corner of the city. Every year when it's this season, I'm tormented by loneliness I don't know if I want to question. However, since I can't help but say things like that, I'm devoting myself day by day every day.

This time I want to talk about my number one scary memory of this summer, which is an incident that happened during our shooting at Fuji Jukai.

For full disclosure, it was the "Kotodama" PV shooting, but we met at the office at 3:00 in the morning and departed after our makeup was done. Naoran and I separated from the other members and headed out for Fuji Jukai in the equipment van. Being rocked by the van for about 3 hours, we soon entered the deep forest. First of all there was a photoshoot at a cave with an interesting history, the name of which was "Hitoana". In accordance with that name "Hitoana", it's said to be a cave where dead people were washed up a long time ago. I was excited to hear that!

We entered the cave with the highest expectations, and it was just as dark as we thought it would be. Countless candles lined up left and right. Natural droplets dripping down. I thought about it. I could compose myself... Here for sure would be my historic ruins! But it was cold. I'd guess there was more than a 10-degree difference in temperature from above ground. A lot! But here appears some unexpected guests. People from the neighborhood arrived in the spirit of curiosity. The children we'd led there were pretty surprised by the spectacle before their eyes. We couldn't do the photoshoot... Our troubled film unit began navigating each of the people. And in any spare moment they would film us. They went in turn, starting with Izumi. Of course, I was last. Meanwhile I was waiting my turn in the van that had become our makeup room, and so warm I could have melted. And finally it was my turn. I focused myself and hurriedly descended the stone staircase. Holding a candlestick in one hand, I looked around and walked slowly so they could shoot the scene. When that was over, they filmed the scene with me singing the song at the place like a cavity in the rock with the alias "Rip." The shooting ended here. Our manager Megu-san seemed to be worried about our dirty kimono and using a wet towel, she cleaned off the dirt with all her might. Once again we ascended the staircase, and when we got outside it was already getting dark, and the crows were calling... At this point in time, our expectations of fear still hadn't happened... To be continued...

Well then, let's meet again next time. Yours truly.

Notes:
人穴 (hitoana) in general refers to a volcanic cave that is said to be inhabited by people. This particular one is in the forest near Mt. Fuji. I haven't found any specific history about people in this cave, though. You can learn more about the setting here.
