Isshi's Tedium Diary

#24
Good evening, how is everybody doing? I'm Isshi. Lately, I think the pollen has finally lessened, and now the days of bad weather are continuing... Well, this month, Kagrra's long-awaited single "Haru Urara" is being released. It's a very good song, so everyone should certainly listen okay? And I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces at the live.

This time I think I want to write about what I wrote a little bit about in my diary on the homepage a little while ago, an older relative*(1). In the time when I was writing this song, although I was writing lyrics I thought I'd change the place where I was writing, so I went out to visit my older male cousin living in Kofu in Yamanashi prefecture. Since it had been quite a long time since I'd seen my cousin, I was a little bit tense. When I got out at Kofu station and was waiting for my cousin, a car stopped. The person who got out was a man like my cousin, who had changed quite a bit in appearance and I was bewildered, but that person was unmistakeably my cousin. My cousin was already married, with a child. The child's name is Yuuki-kun, and I had only met him when he was still a baby, so he didn't remember me, but he was displaying a cheerfully smiling face. It seemed Yuuki-kun wanted to be a soccer player in the future, and said he'd be practicing from the morning tomorrow. After talking with Yuuki-kun for a while, my cousin had a "ghost story" that he had wanted to tell me for some time, so of course he was the same kind cousin I'd had fun with from the past. My cousin's impulsive actions were things like that and a lot of putting on airs for me, and after so long I was surprised. Ahh, I think I want to give that story another chance, but come to think of it, it was my cousin who taught me about being in a band. When my cousin was a high school student he played drums in a band, and I remember when he showed me I thought I wanted to play drums too. And even now I really like listening to the songs that my cousin listened to often at that time. When I think about that, I can't help but be grateful to my older cousin for influencing who I am now in various ways. I didn't have time to visit for more than just one night, but even when he saw me off at the station for my return home, he gave me a present to take with me.

Of course it was shingen mochi. My cousin wanted it all along, but since my good cousin was close like this, I was full of incredible happy feelings. I'm thinking, 'Am I writing too much praise here?' but I think I want my older cousin to always be like another kind father in this way. Since it's not possible to say outright, I'll have to use this place to say it.
"Older cousin, thank you. Please treat me well from now on too!"

Well then, let's meet again next time. Yours truly.
Notes:
*1 - Although Isshi is talking about his cousin, he's using the word for "older brother."
