Our driver's story.
I asked the microbus driver who we always gratefully tour with, if he ever saw any strange things? Then while tilting his head slightly, he told me this story.
It happened on a certain musician's tour. As usual, he said, the microbus was traveling the highway in the deep night. In the corner of his field of vision he saw rapid movement of a black thing and he was dazzled by it...
'I can't, I can't, I have to look forward and drive...' he thought, though subconsciously his eyes were suspicious of the wide windows. A black cloak, a scythe as long as a sword, the face of a skull... it was surely the typical image of a reaper that waved its cloak while running parallel outside the window.
He caught his breath uneasily, but he didn't stop the bus, and he didn't scream.
'Is it possibly because of the car...? No, I can't, I can't! Anyway, I don't see anything next to me...'
The good thing is that, he was able to arrive at the destination safely, he said.
After that, I heard various other personal experience stories from that driver.

...I'm troubled. Since I wrote that Ichirou Nakayama, who I collaborated with in the previous "Shin Mimibukuro," told me of the same vision of a 'reaper', I recalled being immensely worried about him. If you're saying "A typical image" I wonder if it's not a cloak but a hood, a robe. The scythe as long as a sword would have to be a sickle from Western Europe, that can cut grass from a standing posture. But what... that kind of reaper, running parallel on the highway without riding a horse or without flying... just running? Running with bony legs, and furthermore, hovering with his robe turning up and flapping, wouldn't he be displaying all of the bones in his body? Moreover, he's clasping a long scythe with a bony hand, and carrying it on his shoulder, right? But that isn't included in the description... ... I'm troubled. I'm troubled, Isshi! And as you'd expect my comment is harsh.
