―With "Wa" as their band concept, they have traditional Japanese beauty and Japanese style instruments, and established their unique world of music as rock with a Japanese scale. To make their overseas performances in 2007 a success, Kagrra is earning passionate support from within Japan as well as overseas. These guys are starting the beginning of the year with recording and meetings for the release of the album "Core".
Isshi: So far we've started with a concept first, but this time we don't particularly have a concept. To say it loosely, we thought we'd compose whatever we liked.
―Starting with the magnificent number "Irodori no Sanka", which broadens the point of view that can be summed up as "What is human?" for different types of people all over the world, there are tracks whose lyrics tell legends, and mystical tracks, and tracks incorporating jazz and heavy metal into one, etc.
Isshi: There's no song that is like any other.
―There are 10 tracks total. But this time it seems you weren't as fixated on a direct expression of "Wa".
Shin: We had complications with that kind of thing previously. Though we wanted to try various things, and had various thoughts, we have to do it in "Wa" style. But we're Kagrra, no matter what we do. The freedom of our music will be more diverse.
―Your music is naturally overflowing with freedom, and yet, at its core, there are deep and powerful works that shine majestically with the worldview that can't be done by anyone but Kagrra,.
Izumi: Song by song the good qualities are definitely the lyrics that remain in your ears along with the melody, Isshi's singing voice that goes along with the music, and even more, the abundance of expression with each and every play... If I talk about the drums, there's a lot to listen to when I use the cymbals a lot.
Isshi: Existing fans may criticize this work because a glance these are songs without the feeling of "Wa". But there is a single core within us. If you think of this album as a "core" you'll be surprised at the meaning of it. And as the 1st work since our transfer, it's an album that we worked on with new feelings, so existing fans and even people who are listening for the first time, we'll be happy if you get our music.
