"Utakata" art by Belle Veazey.

Ephemeral

My wishes rain down upon you
Quietly overcoming sadness
When we can meet again someday
I'll remember your crying face in profile

Time flows slowly while I recall things long past
The star I saw that day shone more than anything
And I could surely feel eternity

My wishes rain down upon you
Quietly overcoming sadness
When we can meet again someday
I'll remember your crying face in profile

The transiently scattered memories I embrace
Are like brilliantly blooming flowers
If the passing seasons change many times
Will you be able to hear my voice?

Though we meet and part over and over
My tears flow
So much that I'll drown in them someday
When my chest is flooded with you

My wishes rain down upon you
At the end of revolving fate
I believe we can meet again someday
And I'll sing this prayer now

The transiently scattered memories I embrace
Are like brilliantly blooming flowers
If the passing seasons change many times
Will you be able to hear my voice?

If only I had wings on my back
I could chase you who went on a journey
I'll connect the threads of our interrupted memories
Wanting to hold you close once more

My wishes rain down upon you
Quietly overcoming sadness

 Notes:

In this song, Isshi uses 3 different kanji for 'omoi' (thought). It doesn't change the meaning so much as the nuances, though. Isshi talks about his usage of each of the kanji in this Shoxx interview, as well as the inspiration behind Utakata: his dog Vivienne, who had died earlier that year.
